93 Blazer running hot but not overheating.GoBears 12-24-2004, 12:03 AM Hello all...my 93 Blazer is running hot. It does not overheat but the temp rides at about 220-230. The dash is digital and the normal line is at the 200 mark. I already got a new radiator cap and I noticed some slight bubbling coming out of the radiator hose that leads to the overflow. I can also smell antifreeze when I get out. Could this cause the temp to ride hot? If not I am going to replace the thermostat. Never worked on this vehicle because I just bought it. Where on the Vortec 4.3 is the thermostat located and is it a pain to replace? Thanks in advance. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Mikado14 12-24-2004, 10:59 AM You need to determine where you are smelling the antifreeze from. However, since you want to change the thermostat, find the upper radiator hose and follow it back to the engine. Where it attaches to is the thermostat housing. Once you find it, it is a simple job. GoBears 12-24-2004, 05:43 PM The smell is almost definately coming from the drip from the overflow hose. Thank you very much for your response.
