For those doubting me that Andretti (Michael) owned an F1, here is some proof. It also says that 063 went to Japan...

http://www.euro-classics.com/sold.html

See the text under the pic of Franks car?

Translated it means:

You sell under carriage number 28 of Michael * アンドレッティ possession, to the Japanese client. In addition you sell under carriage number 63, to another Japanese client.

I did a search for " アンドレッティ " and guess who's name came up?

See for yourself:

Yay for me!

So,

Chassis 028 history:

Andretti Family, US (who, incidentally have a house in my area which i can see from my road)
Japan
Clifford Meltzer, CA

Well if he owned the car prior to it heading for Japan, that's entirely possible I guess.

This is the first time the car has been associated with "Michael" Andretti. As I recall, up to this point it's always been Mario that was supposed to have owned it based on the claims I have seen. That didn't make much sense given what Mario had to say about the F1 in the Road&Track article.

Nice find anyway...

Hmm.. so if 070 is a silver car in japan without the stripe does that make 063 the silver car with the red stripe on the door?

I think maybe you have #070 confused with #010 which is the silver car in Japan with no stripe pictured here: http://www.tennodai.com/~satoh/RS200/20030601supasupa/McLarenF1/McLarenF1.htm

Ahh...the old Japan car arguement. I think it says 70. Others say 10. We need more pics to be sure.

For the record, I've been converted to the '#070' side as well. I think it was Chris who brought up the point that the chassis rail ahead of the shifter is not signed by Murray which apparently occurred on the first 13 F1s. That's what XOTech told us here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=792436).

Looks like a 7 to me but anyways did not mean to revive a row. Does this mean like at say that 063 the red stripe car or have we fond anouther in japan? Also i was reading in an article that a japanese car a had 40,000 miles on the clock anybody have any idea what the most heavily used japanese car might be. I was woundering if it might beloing to the guy with the LM and the GT he must have a standars caqr to own an lm presuming he brought them new which he must have becase only one lm has ever sold and we all know about that one.
