All of a sudden my 1993 Park Ave Ultra with 136,000 miles don't go in reverse. Just today, I started the car (after driving it for about 30 miles) and tried to put it in reverse to leave a parking space. I heard a loud strange eriee sound when I tried to put it in reverse. It wouldn't go anywhere when I got it in reverse. When it got the car in drive, the car drove very slowly. I've never had any previous problems with the transmission. Thanks for any help anyone might give.

I would first off check to see if there is fluid in the trans. check it on a warm motor running at idle. also check the color and smell of it. if it smells cheesy or foul and brown or black then the trans is not well. Tranny's usually go without warning at times. If you hear physical sound, then its pretty much time for a rebiuld. let us know what you find..
