My car is lower than yoursp_r_i_m_e_r_a 03-05-2002, 06:20 AM Too bad yours is cleaner:D  :D OK now that I have your attention, x marks the spot where I need your help. I plan to have 2 ducts on each side of the "mouth" feeding air to my front brakes via tubing. Maybe a foglight/brake duct combo, I don't know. Tell me what U think..... http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/713120PrototypeP10.JPG cas8_1999 03-05-2002, 01:59 PM what i suggest is -- to have that clean look get the factory foglights then take the lens cap of of it and gut it out take out bulb and everything paint the whole thing same color as bumper and will look flush and be the air duct the whole behing the housing i think is sufficient if not just widen it what do you think? Cue-Ball 03-05-2002, 02:02 PM I think we need some more pics before we can tell you exactly how ugly that air dam is. :finger: Seriously, you're not REALLY going to put that on your car, are you? It just looks way too plain and straight. You need at least some sort of lip on the bottom. And since the stock G20 has a big-ass grill in the center, i'd plan on cutting away a pretty good sized portion so that your radiator gets enough air. BTW, what is that made of? Is it sheetmetal or fiberglass or what? And how are you doing to mold in the ducts that you're planning to make? killick 03-05-2002, 02:54 PM Look what I just photoshopped for ya. How 'bout somethin' like this? http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/981444spoilered_g20.jpg Dropped the stock spoiler 'bout 3 inches. Removed the bars and added your brake ducts in the same style openings as the fogs. Will need the sides done to match the lowered front, though. Seriously thanks for the warning, I was just about to roll around town with a straight dry-foam bumper until you said something. Go to the eye doctor and have him check DA VI SION:finger: I still have days of sanding before I capture the shape I want. Besides any bumper looks good with a 1500$ FORGE intercooler stuffed inside:D After I get the shape around the whole car, fiberglass will be hand-layed over all the foam, then more sanding....... Killick thanks for the pic, it looks tight. I am trying to keep the front from curving in like the OEM bumper. But the fog/brake duct combo looks hella tight! Cas8_1999 I think I will try the fog light idea, but i'm not about to buy some just to rip them apart. I'll just have to build the basic shape myself. I am building the front kit to the ground, because right before its finished I will slice the bottom off about 3 inches up. This will be made into a lip-kit that drops the front to the ground for shows. Side-skirts and rear will soon follow....... cas8_1999 03-05-2002, 04:59 PM Originally posted by killick Look what I just photoshopped for ya. Then pull one side outwards at a time but support the bumper from falling off. dont forget to disconnect the lights. cas8_1999 03-06-2002, 11:32 AM Than you! That should be all i need to know. The front bumper on the silver G wasnt that hard cause I could work with existing elements in the photo. Here we're talking about mixing parts from different pics... photos shot from different angles, different lighting, etc. Much harder to get it to work out right. But I can give it a go. Its so confusing its scary!! ... Used Corel PhotoPaint (because it came with Corel Draw). This was actually the first time I used it. ... though I been playin' with these kinds of programs (PhotoPaint, PhotoShop, PhotoStyler, PaintShop, etc) for about 10 years. Done some 3D modelling too (kinda like a CAD program where you build the object in 3 dimensions, set the textures and lighting, then render it). Did the wooden runabout on the Rhino3D (http://www.rhino3d.com/hobby.htm) web site. Bigger pic here on their gallery page (http://rhino3d.com/gallery/marine/stephydro.htm). Great for coming up with wild stuff like the Neeper concept vehicles that cas8_1999 posted in the bumper thread (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t33631-2.html). Pretty steep learning curve though (but probably not if you've got a CAD background). ... now, how the hell did I get this far off topic? Cheers, Tony poppy_morenito 03-07-2002, 07:45 AM DAMN you are good .. One of your biggest challenges is going to be designing it so that it looks decent both with and without the extension on it. Unless you're careful it'll either look like somethin's missing when it's off, or like an afterthought when it's on. Take your time and play with lots of ideas before you commit to something. Better to have your car out of commision for a few extra days and be proud of the end result than to rush it and end up driving ...eh... something you might not so happy with. I curious what an E36 and E46 BMW Modified M Front end would look like on the P10 G. Since the P10 stock is already boxey enough in the rear, and with the OEM Touring spoiler, the M front end a little modified may be cool to consider. The front end offers cooling ducts for the brakes already. I have a purple E36 BMW M3 Saloon and I love the looks of the front end with the added OEM front Spoiler. Adding the E36 M front end to a P10 would open up more space in the front for some interesting custom grille options. ALSO, Does anyone know of a roof spoiler for the P10. I want one, but nothing real aggressive. cas8_1999 12-08-2002, 08:50 PM for the photoshopping innclude the pics you want done casual vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
