ditch bound civic...parkinglottc 12-21-2004, 02:15 AM i let a buddy drive my car for one second and boy was it the wrong move!! i guess he thought he was a racer so he just raced it right into the ditch!! bad news, dont let your buddys drive your cars, and dont drink and drive, i guess you have to learn somehow!! i got it fixed by a guy that i know and it looks good, a couple of wrinkles under the hood and the lines arent perfect but for 240.00 bucks, and in the condishion it was in, i really cant complain!! he noticed that the passenger side wheel is about an inch closer to the wheel well, (back towards the passenger), than on the other side. he is no top notch mechanic but he looked at it and said that the control arms and knuckles looked fine and he thought that it might have bent the strut and maybe that was causing this. is that possible that it could just be the strut? does anyone have any expierence with this and could help me out, maybe even tell me if this will be a costly fix? i know its hard to tell without looking at it but its not that bad, it doesnt ride like crap but you can tell!! thanks!! BullShifter 12-21-2004, 02:31 AM It could be a strut, control arm(upper or lower) steering rack, knuckle, front beam. It's hard to say since there are a few main parts that could get bent causing that problem. It could be a safety issue so I would get it inspected ASAP by a qualified person. That's a good suggestion, dont let anyone drive your car. I paid extra for valet parking just so I could park it myself. superbluecivicsi 12-21-2004, 05:39 AM if you have a free alignment plan, now is the time to use it. BullShifter 12-21-2004, 08:23 PM an alignment will not fix a bent suspension part or will it even be in spec. superbluecivicsi 12-21-2004, 08:43 PM It could be a strut, control arm(upper or lower) steering rack, knuckle, front beam.
