What is the TPS? What is it's function? I ask simply for the fact that I noticed this thing snapped off like a twig on the new(er) car I just got. It has a D16Z6 SOHC VTec. And, is it neccessary, integral piece to the functionality of this thing? I just realized what this was, and I know it's been broken off the entire time I've had the car (last month and a half). Didn't realize this may have affected anything really since the car seems to run just fine, except for the recent turbo issue that I'm experiencing. (posted in the turbo subtopic under Honda).

It's the Throttle Position Sensor, and all it does is just sense how open the throttle is.

Yes but does it affect anything on how the motor is supposed to run?
