I got a balljoint for the lower control arm will this fit the tie-rod? You have to replace the whole tie rod end. Take it to get an alignment ASAP after installing the tie rod end. klone420 12-20-2004, 10:50 PM I cant buy this at any auto parts store? whtteg 12-20-2004, 10:57 PM I cant buy this at any auto parts store? Yes you can buy a tie rod end at any parts store, just call them before you go up there to make sure they have it in stock. Also you will need to tell them which side it is on, the driver's side is considered the left side of the car. Just in case you did not know, some people are confused about if it is from looking at it from the front or if you were sitting inside the car. It is always like you are sitting in the car. Good Luck klone420 12-20-2004, 11:00 PM Thanx! BullShifter 12-21-2004, 02:26 AM you want an outer tie rod not an inner. gunnmen01 12-22-2004, 07:31 PM depending on how much they are you might want to replace both of them, since they are the same age and you would need to get it aligned again if the other one went bad in the next few months or so... gunnmen01 klone420 12-24-2004, 09:43 PM depending on how much they are you might want to replace both of them, since they are the same age and you would need to get it aligned again if the other one went bad in the next few months or so... gunnmen01 The reason I need the tie-rod balljoint is because of my own stupidity, I crushed the threads while using a two-jaw puller. So I don't need to aligne it, right? BullShifter 12-25-2004, 02:37 AM It's recommended you align the car but counting the number of turns removing then doing same for install gets you pretty close. For backup I scribe a line on the inner then measure to center of tie rod and check the new part after install. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
