cold start idlemrfirebird 12-20-2004, 07:36 PM i've got a 94 blazer code W. do these trucks have a fast idle on a cold start? i've got a rough idle when cold and the rpms seem to be the same as when it's warmed up. idle gets smooth when warmed up. rpm's don't :banghead: change at all. BlazerLT 12-21-2004, 01:45 AM Done a tuneup lately? mrfirebird 12-21-2004, 07:30 AM yep it's got all new stuff in it, it'll burn the 31's off. when it's a cold start idle is ruff but if you apply abit of gas it smooths out. any ideas ? BlazerLT 12-21-2004, 04:18 PM What did the tuneup contain? What was replaced? mrfirebird 12-21-2004, 07:55 PM plugs, wires, cap, rtr button. BlazerLT 12-21-2004, 08:03 PM What about the fuel filter, air filter, PCV valve, Idle air control valve cleaning? mrfirebird 12-22-2004, 07:52 AM plugs, wires, cap, rtr button. yep, all that except the air idler control valve. where and what does it look like. i have a chiltons book , but i'm at work at the moment. BlazerLT 12-22-2004, 01:07 PM it is a small device right above the intake butterfly. Remove, clean with TB cleaner and a toothbrush, rinse with TB cleaner again and reinstall. Then reset your computer, start your truck and allow it to idle till warm, then put it in gear with the brake pressed and do not move and allow the engine to relearn its idle. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
