Reprogramming a Ford keyfob for an Olds Silhouettedigi-tek 12-19-2004, 09:16 PM I have a '97 Ford Ranger keyfob (TRW-3165189, FCC ID gq43vt4t, DOC 1470 k763, transmitter 2) that I'd like to reprogram to use on my '99 Olds Silhouette. Can this be done--crossing brands--or do I need to buy a blank off of ebay? The Olds keyfob says: (GM 10245953, Canada 218 101 487, FCC ab00204t). Thank you, in advance.... Milo2001 12-21-2004, 07:23 AM They are different. You need to either go to GM for a blank or get one off EBAY. The codes on the back of the key fob need to match. There are also specific instructions on how to reprogram them. Each model/year could be different. Make sure you get the one for your van.
