Hello Fellow Mazda Owners,

Listen, I want to properly flush my radiator system in my 1995 Mazda 626. I Have looked under the hood and discovered the hoses coming out of the firewall have some aluminum or metal sections in them. I just want to make sure I can insert the T-valve in one of these hoses. Can anyone out there provide me with the proper instructions on how to flush the radiator system in my 1995 Mazda 626.

i did this a few weeks ago on my 94 626. pain in the ass. i bought one of the flush kits at autozone. to use it requires cutting heater hose betweek firewall and back of engine. get a real sharp blade to cut the hose, splice in a fitting to attach a garden hose to and add flush chemicals to radiator let it run a few minutes, attach garden hose to fitting you spliced in and run water thru it until it runs clear. may need to be prepared to catch it. can be a bit messy. mine was so rusty you couldn't read the coolant tester to see how much freeze protection you had. i bought it used. didn't look like they had changed the coolant in the car at all.

the whole process is not too bad, but the lack of room makes it difficult; scraped knuckles and a little swearing will get it done.

someone else may have a better alternative. maybe they will post.

How did you determine which hose to use? I bought the Prestone flush kit but have not installed it yet because I couldn't determine which hose to attach it to. The instructions say to use the hose that goes to the top of the engine and not the hose that goes to the water pump. To me it appeared as though both hoses were going to the top of the engine.

The cars not here to look at. You should be able to trace the hoses by hand (awkward) to determine which one runs where. Haynes doesn't offer much help. You can probably just feel your way along.
