Hello all, I have a 1989 Camry with a servere grinding noise comming from the front of the car. The wheel bearings and drive axles (including inner and outer C.V. joints) on both sides of car are fine. The axle bearing on the drivers side has been replaced. The transmission shifts fine and fluid is topped off in differential. Could the bearings bearings the in differential be worn. The car has around 167,000 miles on it. any help/advice would be appreciated. Thank You.

I assume your noise is only present and corresponding to the speed the car is moving. I assume you talk about the wheel bearings, etc because you would believe the problem is there, although you can't believe it. It is highly unlikely your differential bearings are bad. You still have a bearing problem is my bet.
