Did you know about the button? hui007 12-19-2004, 01:53 PM bump N2fw 01-08-2005, 06:46 PM I have same problem, and dont know what button you're talkng about zeek1403 01-08-2005, 10:50 PM there is a little black button about the ignition. look a little harder and you should find it. All older Camrys have this. N2fw 01-09-2005, 12:59 AM Do you mean actually taking out the Key lock cylinder or something that allows for an override of that system?? jsinton 01-09-2005, 09:14 AM There's a little black button near the key, you must push this button while simutaniously pulling out the key. It's so someone cannot reach around and take your key from you and steal you prescious body or something. It's a safety latch kinda thing... Did you know about this one? Maybe your year Camry does not have this. I have an 88, and I think they have this until 91 at least. N2fw 01-09-2005, 12:48 PM Thanks for the info... I think that it must be gone from the 92-96 models Mike Gerber 01-09-2005, 01:50 PM The button feature is definitely gone form the 92-96 (generation 3) Camrys. Mike N2fw 01-09-2005, 02:32 PM I am assuming that the problem with the key is related to the shifter... it moves in and out of gear without pressing the brake. Does anyone know if only the shift lock itself can be replaced... and if not is it expensive to replacethe entire shifter. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
