I did a very simular job and only got $3500 out of it and I felt lucky at that! busta 12-19-2004, 09:57 PM more pics of the duel battery ste up please iam interested in the same thing! looks good 03-Silverado 12-19-2004, 11:22 PM Right now, that's pretty much all I got of the battery setup. If you want I can try to get some more pictures up tommorow of different angles of the setup. Basically, one battery is is the origional factory position and the other one is located in the upper left corner near the hood mount. busta 12-20-2004, 11:33 AM ya i'd like to see more of the mounting of the battery up by the hood and the connectors umm they look neat! Nigel215 12-20-2004, 12:11 PM I guess you really dont wanna get lost do you.... Looks good though. Just a lttle too much for my taste. Where did you get the box for your subs? My friend is building one for me, Hopefully ill have it by next weekend. TexasF355F1 12-20-2004, 12:23 PM Man that looks sweet! Great choices in all the equipment. 03-Silverado 12-21-2004, 02:45 AM Man that looks sweet! Great choices in all the equipment. Thank you! I'm still waiting to take some more pics of my battery setup for everyone to see. It looks pretty clean, the way they did it. Two batteries definately helped out powering 3 amps, and a navigation system. What's neat is that the battery setup is done so that the voltage meter in the dash is reading from both batteries, and not just the one battery. I am going to buy the bypass switch next week, which prevents the factory "Battery Run Down Protection" from activating. It usually activates after 5 minutes, when I have at least 70-80 minutes of time left listening to the music at a loud volume with the engine off. I am also waiting for the bypass switch will will activate my rear view color camera automatically when I switch into reverse... Right now I have to turn on the TV tuner, then put it into AV2 and be in reverse in order for the camera to activate. I went 239 miles today, while watching 3 full TV episodes, 1 DVD ( The Fast And Furious ), probably 30 mp3s, and too much radio... Seriousely, the more I use my head unit, the more I love it. VERY HIGHLY recommended to anyone who has $2K to spare. Regards, -Ryan huskercrue 12-22-2004, 10:20 PM Did you install the unit yourself. If so did you need an installation kit, and how hard was the install. Also, is there an adapter that can be used so that the steering wheel controls will still work. Thanks 03-Silverado 12-23-2004, 12:20 PM Did you install the unit yourself. If so did you need an installation kit, and how hard was the install. Also, is there an adapter that can be used so that the steering wheel controls will still work. Thanks I had the unit installed by my local audio shop, whom did just about everything for me. I did have to purchase a special installation kit, including two GM Bypass modules which allowed the aftermarket radio to work in my truck. As far as the steering wheel controls are, to the best of my knowledge if you replace your factory radio you will no longer be able to use the steering wheel controls, however there may be another module to bypass this, but you should definately consult your local dealer to find out more, I just don't see how it is possible to retain the steering wheel controls.
