Taking seat belts out

I have a problem. I am trying to take the seatbelts out of my car. It required a star bit that I didn't have so i went to autozone and picked up the biggest size they had. Turns out it wasn't big enough, it was a little loose. I didnt have the money to go somewhere else and buy one so i tried out the bit i had. Now i have a stripped star bolt. I don't want to cut it out because first i dont have a big enough cutting wheel and second i dont want to take a chance at cutting the plastic. Drilling it out is about the only thing i can come up with. Anyone have any other ideas?

You can get some pretty sweet stripped bolt removing tools out there. Go to Sears or somewhere, and ask about em. They'll show you a ton probably. You'll probably end up with a tool with a spike that you pound in and then break it lose with. Just ask someone at the store about the right tool.

thanks for the help. Im taking out the seatbelts because im repainting my interior. I have to take out the seat belts to take off a peice of the interior. I'll check any local stores to see if they have any tools like that.

try getting the right size first, if you use too small of a torx it will strip but you can usually still take it out and put it back in with the right size because of the way it is designed.
