program ecm computer

Has anyone programmed their chip on the Mark 8. I was wondering if it had any visible effects. I want to do it but the programmer is like 400-500. And I don't want a chip because later I might want to change something. Just for info I look at www.supercoupeperformance.com for mods for the mark 8. They have alot of cool stuff.
