i need a quick answer!!Mingish 12-17-2004, 04:18 PM 160 watt head unti..2 ch rca line out 160 enough for a amp and one 12"? AudioGuy93DelSol 12-17-2004, 09:59 PM Whoa, what? killah_xft 12-18-2004, 01:44 AM speak english.. but I think what you're saying is will your head unit power a 12 inch sub? answer is.. NO you need an AMPLIFIER somewhere in between the headunit and the subb. best bet is to get a mono amp, or 2 channel bridgable AMP. if your headunit has the ouput for a sub (RCA's) plug them into the AMP RCA inputs. and wire some power to the AMP and there you go. killah_xft 12-18-2004, 01:45 AM hint... sounds like you don't know much about audio systems... I definitly suggest you bring your car to a shop, and have them install a setup for you.. klone420 12-23-2004, 04:23 PM The HU powers the factory speakers and the amp would power the sub. match the subs watts with an amps RMS. No offense man, but you don't seem nearly enough to install a sound system, maybe not even enough to choose out what to put in your car. Don't take it the wrong way I was there once, just read stuff online and learn what you can. I don't want to see you waste your money when you buy subs and an amp but realize that they won't work together because of ohm's, wattage, etc. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
