Hi,

this is another model of my Collection.

It´s a Audi S1 in 1:24 from Rallye Classics. I opened the hood and put in a scratchbuilt engine. You see some pics of the building period and the finished model.

Enjoy !!

Awesome work, this car defines the whole Group B era in terms of style and performance, a shame it never got to show its full potential.

Agreed, awesome work. I remember an interview with Walter Roehrl and basically he was xplaining that these cars were so fast that by the time you realised you were losing traction it was essentially too late to react to it.

So beautiful to see for an Audi enthusiast !
Not many Audi-kits around unfortunatley.
I have this in progress (not motorsport):

i think someone still produce it in 1/43, maybe provence moulage?
your s1 is great too however

Delta's rule! There's a Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione for sale at a garage near my house. :)
You should make a delta to acompany your Audi :D

Hi ToxicWaltz,

the model on your above mentioned webside is in my opinion mostly scratchbuilt.

Provence Moulage is said to stopped production.

i saw right now you scratchbuilt the engine, great work :)

Haha, can't fault you there. The S4 had some great results but the Sport Quattro E2 really grabbed the attention with the huge mods. Apparently, Audi had begun testing an engine with 1000hp for a Group B car, but stopped when it was banned in '87.

i don't know about it, however lancia too was planning something about the group successive to the B (can't find infos anymore...). audi quattro was a beast too, very screaming and powerful engine but i find it terribly ugly :grinno: except the A2 that ran on tour the corse '84
going a bit OT... :icon16: let's return on the sportracer's S1 :)

Hi,

if you have a look at www.nimpex.de , and search there for Audi, they still offer this kit for nearly 90 Euro ( but without engine )

Me too, I hope somebody decides to make another 1/24 version. I missed an MRM one on eBay the other day that went for a reasonable price on Buy It Now :(

Hi everybody,

good news CTR Resine Kits offers a MG Metro Gr.B - Kit for 2005.

Look at www.automobilminiaturen.de under "News"

this too in resin... why not a cheap plastic kit :( :disappoin

SteveK2003

Because, while cheap to produce each car, it is VERY expensive to create the tooling to make the parts for a plastic kit.

I guess that for some reason, the companies think there isn't enough of a market for the Group B and other rally cars.

let's hope hasegawa will produce soon some other group B beauty after 037
