I am a newbie at this. I have a 91 honda accord that at 60 mph the rmps jump as much as 500 rpms. At 75 mph it was running less than 3.2k rmps but recently it has jumped to over 3.6k rpms. However at intermitten times the rpms will drop back to the normal range. I have check the ecu codes and get nothing. Has anyone else had anything like this?

My '93 did that for a while when under moderate load (climbing a shallow hill -- the approach to the Sunshine Skyway!). The revs would "hunt" up and down about 500rpm every 30 seconds or so. It was NOT shifting up and down as someone suggested (that would've been a BUNCH more than 500 rpm difference). Now it seems to have fixed itself (like an oil leak I once had - can't explain that either).

I never did find out what was causing it. Could the TCU have adjusted itself to my driving? (I had just bought the car - used - when it was happening).
