What do you guys think?
In January I will have my 1:12 custom LM painted, but havent decided on a color yet!

Orange is the true LM color, but then black is soooo cool!

Appretiate youre opinions!

If there was actual visual reference material on one of the black LMs I might be swayed assuming it looked nice. Being that there is not, I'd simply go with the original orange which is in no way a bad thing.

When people look at it painted in the familiar Paypaya Orange, it will be immediately identified as to what it is meant to represent. If you go black, it will look nice - I think #072 looks great - but it just won't be the same. Just look at how many people mistake the converted GTRs that are painted Paypaya for being true LMs. In this case, I think the color makes the car.

i agree, we do not now exactly what the black lms look like so i think that orange is the best colour to choose. are you using a minichamps 1/12 model to do this project? and could you please post some photos of what you have done so far, thanks

Pics. will be posted and yes, it's a drk silver 1:12 PMA which found the basis.
And I actually know pretty much how the black LM looks as I have a detailed descrition from someone who has seen it very close!

Can you post some pics of the car before the conversion i have the dark blue one never sceen the silver one sceen the outher colours but not silver.

Orange, definitely. Thats what makes it an LM! Even though perhaps not all of them are orange, thats what they are known for.

Papaya Orange for sure! Like peloton said, its the original color that represent the LM. Im sure black will look good too but the black color will hide some details of this beautiful car.

Hmmm ive voted for black (largley because im selfish and would like to see a model of what they look like if you can gat nere to them) this would make the model even more unique prehaps. Its impossable to say black might be a nice change form all the outhr orange lm models. Though prehaps orange would look nicer visual appeal or uniquness..................you decide

I think the one I had resprayed in Silver over Papaya (exactly like 07R when I drove in it!) looks VERY nice indeed.

No, i just thought that murraydeschot made the post before mine a while ago. Maybe someone posted and then deleted their post. I'm not saying the thread is bad or anything.

I get it, i think what must happen is if somebody votes the thread get bumped back up to the top even if no post has been aded it confuses me to.

Go with the black. Black is sexy, adn it will be nice to see a black LM

Payso, nice picture in your avatar. Do you have a bigger version of it? Anyone else? I don't think I have seen that one.

More specifically, it's a shot of an LM wheel, which is more than likely why he asked. Can you tell us which LM it was?

Could always go for realism and get one of the Brunei black liveries, if you didn't want Papaya Orange.

Might not be to some peoples tastes but I actually like them.

brunei black is great. i personally love it. sad to ruin the papaya greatness of the LM, but not a 'disgusting' paint job as some have it (in my opinion!) :)
