I do a lot of street racing and was wondering if there is any type of police GPS/radar device? I am thinking of something like a laptop computer that will have a maps of streets and will pinpoint police out on it. Does this make since?

I'm sure if there is one its illegal. But it would be cool if there is that kind of machine that you describe...

there is no way to do this because GPS satellites do not keep a database of the recievers they are giving location information to, and even if they did, it would be cluttered with every car with a Navigation system as well as all kinds of boats and airplanes.

That would be cool, but all i got for ya is this: i know they make a radar detector that when shot by the cop( i mean on the radar gun) it sends back false info and scrambles the radar gun up. Then there are scanners too, but that really doesn't help too much because they aren't giving out their 20 that often.

well how about the detector that picks up cops clockin people,i seen many people with them..they just start beeping when cops are around.

If something like that existed, nobody with enough money would get tickets. You will have to check if Jammers are legal in your state, cause cops will screw you up the rump in fines and crap if it isnt, like where I live in CA. However, it IS legal to have radar scanners/detectors where I live, but my advice is to NOT get a $30 shitty Radio Shack one that goes off every 2 seconds with false alarms. Passport, Valentine One, or similar - they are expensive, but it is well worth it. Too expensive for me to be speeding much anyways... :disappoin .

And about radar jamers, they are worthless. It has been proven they do not work againt modern radar guns.

IMO the best thing to avoid police is to use your eyes and common sense. Do not stick out of traffic and you'll not be pulled over.

From what I know, jammers are illegal in every state, and you're gonna' have to spend about 350+ dollars on a good radar detector, yet even then you can still get a ticket b.c. it's not always 100% accurate. Like Neutrino said, just play it safe...

jammers dont do shit one. two the only radar detector i would but is the valintine 1. But they best form of protection is two look at for cops. If a bunch of cars are braking in front of u there is pry a cop. watch out for ppl flashing there lights usally means cops. the gps thing is pry not gonna happen for awhile and they only way it does is if cops get transmitters that transmits there location back to the dispatch office. then u would have to tap into that somehow.

If you have a need for such a great piece of technology, you must be racing for 50000 dollars on the streets along with all the other 10 sec cars.

in all seriousness, a radar detector (the more expensive the better) is all you need, mixed with some common sense... you should be fine.

Even radar detector's are pointless nowadays, for one simple reason, cops know you have them. They aren't stupid. How do you get around people with radar detectors if you're a cop? You wait until a car is driving by before you turn the radar gun on. By then it's to late for your detector to pick it up.

Dude if something like that existed I'd invest in a full set up and go crazy stealing cars and robbing banks and I'd have a possitive location on all the cops and getaway routes, streetracing would be the last thing on my mind with a puppy like that!

a combination of a radar detector and just plain looking for a cop is the best way to avoid getting tickets.( use common sense).

But that GPS idea would be soooo bad ass, and it would be illegal as hell.

People would know whos a cop, where they are and how many there are.

My Cobra works great. I usually get about a 15sec warning. Unless of course its V band Laser. Lazer ownz joo. I would buy it again.

I always wondered why they never made something like that. But wait, when you steal a car with lojack how do they find you? Dont cop cars have lojack? So couldnt you get something that tracks that? Im sure in a few years we will have something like that.

cop cars have a lojack reciever, all it does is beep faster when they're close to a stolen car that is equipped with a lojack transponder.
