well put your car in neutral and open the engine compartment. then walk around and stick your head around the engine compartment and narrow down the general area that its coming from such as the block or the tranny or the head, or maybe if it only occurs while in gear. narrow down what main part of the car its coming from.

i had the same problem i know exactly what sound your trying to describe....its your tranny....dont worry it dosnt cost much to fix...its just a few bad bearings in there....throwout bearing, pilot, etc. i took mine to get fixed and the bill was 742.00 and i had them put a new clutch in for 121.00. of course, my 742 bill included a busted axle (75.00) and a fix on my bell housing (35.00) so all in all its worth it to get it fixed unless u can find a used tranny with low miles....now my tranny shifts like new and i never have problems with it..15,000 miles on it so far so good..
