Short shifterwhitGSR07 12-14-2004, 07:39 PM Whats a good short shifter to buy for a GSR? I have heard good things about DC sports and B&M. Anyone have a short shifter on a gsr? Greenblurr93 12-14-2004, 07:47 PM i have one of those gineric no namers, cheap and i cant complain it works great. integrawhat 12-14-2004, 09:23 PM just look for one that shortens the "throw" not just the shift rod whtteg 12-14-2004, 11:21 PM I personally don't think they are that necessary but I have heard the Skunk2 was shorter and felt a lot like the ITR shifter, but better. kornflakes28546 12-15-2004, 09:30 AM do any of you guys that have installed a short shifter have before and after 1/4 mi times? i'm considering buying one but i'd like to know how much time it will cut off a 1/4 mile. whtteg 12-15-2004, 10:06 AM I personally can shift pretty fast with the stock shifter and I can't imagine shifting any faster, if any of you ever heard the .wav of my exhaust I had you already know ;) whitGSR07 12-15-2004, 01:36 PM Yeah I love the way the shifter feels now but I thought it might beable to make my shifts faster. You think I should spend my money elsewhere? Rating 12-15-2004, 01:53 PM I got a short throw in my Integra and it is straight, The car had it when I baught it, so I wouldnt know the differance really. But my friend has a civic, with one of those 2F2F jump-offs were your knob is basically your shifter. Man I got in that thing and it altered my thaught process and the way I shift, I hated it because it through me off on my shifts, I guess after some practice you might be able to work with it. I kept stallin out and ridin the clutch and everything else. It was just way to much for me. That really doesnt have anything to do with an actual short shifter, but dont try the 2f2f crap. Haha kornflakes28546 12-15-2004, 03:12 PM why did the different shifter make you ride the clutch and stall out? whitGSR07 12-15-2004, 09:12 PM korn flakes...are those 17's on ur car? kornflakes28546 12-15-2004, 10:21 PM yep soltis007 12-23-2004, 09:35 AM I just cut the stock shifter, then re-tapped it. It looks great and dramatically reduced the throws. Cheap too. SiGNAL748 12-23-2004, 11:21 AM I just cut the stock shifter, then re-tapped it. It looks great and dramatically reduced the throws. Cheap too. That doesn't reduce the length of your throws. whitGSR07 12-23-2004, 04:53 PM bojangles the third? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
