clickinig noise after Lowering 98 honda accordkenzoaccord 12-14-2004, 06:17 PM i lowred my car with H&R sport and Tokico Hp struts and its been about 6 months and i haven't had an alignment yet. There is a clicking noise whenever i accelerate from a stop. it also does it when i press on the brakes to reverse. I don't know what the problem is. A mech. said it could be my rack and pinion, Any help? thanks Greenblurr93 12-14-2004, 06:20 PM AXELS???? chack the boot to make sure irs not torn. kenzoaccord 12-14-2004, 08:28 PM where do i find that, what do i look for? thanks Greenblurr93 12-14-2004, 08:32 PM its best to get under your car to look, but if u cant turn the wheel all the way to one side, look inside your wheel well and look for the rod that goes from ur tranny to your wheel. there should be a rubber boot on the end closest to the wheel. The boot shouldnt be torn anywhere, if it is u will need new axels, check both drivers and passanger side when u do this. CivicSiRacer 12-14-2004, 09:16 PM Sounds like the CV joints. kenzoaccord 12-15-2004, 12:24 AM whats the reason why it could be broken? is it because it's lowered? also, i did get a new transmission about 4 months ago. Maybe they didn't do a good job of taking the tranny out? BullShifter 12-15-2004, 02:31 AM It's hard to say without hearing it, but axles go bad from CV joints loosing their grease usually due to a ripped boot. If you catch it earlier enough most of the time you can get away with a boot kit. If the joint click they need rebuilding or easier and cheaper a reman. axle. If you don't know what to look for take it to some one who does. Greenblurr93 12-15-2004, 07:27 PM CV boots wear with time, they get old and break, its normal, its probably just a fluke it happend after you lowered your car. civicvtec 05-11-2005, 12:54 AM Dude, mine was doing the same or it still is, a friend told me it was my cv joints that were making that clicking , but i put some new ones on today and it is still doing it but not as bad and the mech. said it was my rack and pinion.its true , if it does it when you take of then it is your rack and pinion, the cvs would normally do it when turning Greenblurr93 05-11-2005, 08:34 AM "DUDE" this thread is 5 months old.... dont bring it back CivicSiRacer 05-11-2005, 11:09 AM "DUDE" this thread is 5 months old.... dont bring it back "DUDE" you need to shrink your picture in your signature. Greenblurr93 05-11-2005, 01:19 PM "DUDE", you seem to be the only one that has a problem with it, but since you asked so nicely, ill change it when i get home from work. :smooch: dramey_2004 05-11-2005, 02:14 PM you need to order a shorter set of axles they are bottumed out in the cv joint vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
