After reading many threads in this forum I'm begainning to wonder if I should get an extended auto warranty online.

My 2000 Malibu LS is a week old, for me (46,509 Miles). While it looks and seem to drive like new, there are sooo many scary messages in here that maybe I'll come out ahead with after market warranty.

Anyone ever buy an extended auto warranty? Some of the sample contracts I've read look like a rip off.

Any insights are most welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I got the extended warranty when I bought my car. It has saved me the intake gasket repair, HVAC control, and lower shock mounts. All that together would have cost more than the actual warranty.
