Mr. Matt is now the proud owner of a 1973 Datsun 240z.

Powered by a L28 2.8 liter Inline 6 out of a 280z. It has a 5 speed with dual Weber DVG (we think) carbs, K&N filters a 6-1 Header, 2.25" exhaust to a generic muffler and 15" Enkei wheels and less not forget the two no-name brand racing buckets and a 4 point harness for the driver.

All in all, a good buy for the price. I won't say. I'll let him spill the beans.

Yep, it's a damn near exact twin of my car. Minor details like the 280z hood with vents. And the white front lip. It's a cool car, moves along pretty good for what she is.

PS. tell him to be careful with that 4 point belt. The normal 3 point is safer but if he really wants a racing harness switch to a properly mounted 6 point with a roll bar.

Yeah, he's probably going to lose the 4 points. Or at least properly mount them. Right now they're done really bad.

It's a good start, but nothing crazy.

How fast are those cars - good aftermarket for suspension stuff? It seems they would have alot of potential. They seem expensive, though.

TerminalVelocity is like 6'2"... and I know lots of tall guys who have Z's. They have lots of room, may not look like it. But they do.

They can be expensive, but they can also be reasonably price as well. It all depends on what you want from the car.

Hmmm Datsun wasn't around in 89 or 90. But Nissan was.

And what you're describing sounds like a 240sx. Not a 280z. The 280z was last made in 1978.... the 280zx was last made in 1983.

The 300zx Z31 was made from 1984-1989.

The 300zx Z32 was made from 1990-1996.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but I'm a ECU controlled fuel injector kind of guy so I'm not very knowlegeable about carbs.

I keep hearing quite a bit abot Weber carbs. Are they a specific design or is Weber a brand name?

I got mine for $2700, was advertised at $3000. You just have to look around to find the deals. I randomly found mine while looking for S13 240sx's. Always wanted a 240z, thought they looked bitchin. Like a Japanese Corvette. Drives like one too (from that era of course). I did a quick search, found my car. That night I had a buddy drive me 108 miles to pick it up in the freezing cold.

Rest is history.


We found TV's on Ebay. They're out there, you just gotta be looking at the right time.

The 300zx Z32 was made from 1990-1996.my bad, it was a early 80's car, i dont remember clearly what year but it was a 280zxand it said datsun, i wasnt sure about the year because we didnt have the registration, it had t-tops, it was a 280zx, it had an inline 6, the hood opened the opposite direction of what most cars have, so it opened from the end where it meets the windshield, and i think it was a two seater, i dont remember too good, oh and the guages were digital, not as in number digital, it had like a bar that went up and down for the speed-o, it had breathing vents on the hood, it was black, and that is pretty much what i remember about it, how much are those cars worth, oh and also, the car was way lower than those in the first page, it was low as hell and the rims didnt have any holes, it was just all metal, no holes to see the other side,

whats wrong with levin's? Wataru's turbo levin sounds bad ass. everytime i hear the sounds coming out of that car, it brings chills down my spin. you can hear that turbo spooling hard, and that blow off valve sounding soooo swweeet. best sounding car in a cartoon BAR NON!!
