Serious RS500 Sierra Challenge

Guys, I need your help. I ordered some decals a while back for the ANZ sponsored Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth that ran in the Bathurst 1000 race. I thought I was getting the decals to recreate the 1988 winning car but instead the decals are for the 1987 version driven by Allan Moffat, Andy Rouse and Thierry Tassin. No bother, I am happy to build that car, trouble is I can not find a single reference picture of that car anywhere and I have searched.

Can anybody help? I need images of the 1987 Ford Sierra RS500 as raced in the James Hardie 1000 at Bathurst in Australia.

Eternal gratitude to anybody who can help.

AJ

One more thing, the decals I have are 1/24 made by DMC decals in Denmark.

And if I come up short then does anybody have decals for a white based Sierra RS500 Gr.A ?

Nice to see someone building a car from the heady days of Gr.A racing at Bathurst...My only advice would maybe try a google australia search.
Best of luck

I saw that decal sheet appear on eBay UK, were you the winner? Anyway, i am about to convert Tamiya's Sierra kit into a Group A rally car, so i've been searching for reference pics. The car you're looking for does seem hard to track down on the net, the only pics of it i found were of diecast replicas. Still, they may help you with the positioning of the decals (i know DMC are reluctant to provide placement diagrams)

I'm not sure if they're the correct year you need. If not i'll search some more.

I appreciate your taking the time to look for me. That was me that won the decals on eBay, assuming at the time and without checking that they were for the 1988 car. The car you have images for there was the 88 car, the 87 car never even actually finished the Bathurst which makes me wonder a little why DMC decided to make decals for it?

It may be easier to locate alternate decals at this rate. I am hoping maybe a friend 'down under' has a book on the 87 Bathurst that may have a useable reference picture of the 87 car. It qualified second on the grid so it would likely be well photographed from the start.

I absolutely love Gr.A racing, particularly the BTCC and ATCC championship series fom the mide eighties to the mid nineties.

Trust me though, when it comes to this particular car I have Googled the living poop out of it in search for pictures of it :(

Problem solved. I found an email address for the owner of DMC decals and emailed him directly. He kindly forwarded me a couple of images of their model which shows all the decal placement for the car perfectly.

DMC Decals = Awesome cutomer service!

Pictures below are of their car, I will post mine when I complete the car.
