Well driving alone the interstate I am distracted by my tach fluttering around from 3000 to 7000 and everywhere in between. The guy at Auto Zone said I needed to replace the entire distributor because you can't replace the pick-ups in Hondas. Is this true? Am I going to have to go junkyard happy on this one?

Are you sure its the distributor?
Are you getting any dashboard lights?
Is the tach the only thing screwed up?

Also, if you do need a distributor, I got a 90 Accord EX I'm in the process of parting out as well. So if craig's 86 distributor wont work on your 91 (I'm not sure), I know my 90 will. So if you are stuck in a bind, just shoot me a PM, and I can send it out anytime after Thursday.

I had this exact same problem on my Accord and I'm sure it is the distributor.

I dont know if it's the distributor, I haven't got a Check Engine light yet. That's just what the guy at Auto Zone said it most likely was. I wish there were a way to test it first.
