The other day, the little rubber cover on the main output alternator terminal caught on fire. Now I don't know at what temperature these little rubber covers are good for, but I know it's a lot of heat that will set one on fire. After talking to some people at work, they indicate that I may have a short somewhere in the wire that goes from the alternator back to the battery.

I have virtually no experience with electrical problems. I tried to look at where all the wires go, but I get lost quite quickly. Are there any resources such as wiring diagrams on the internet for 93 camry's?

I intend to take the car to a shop to have an electrical diagnostic, but I would like to know more about the electrical system before I do that.

Any help is appreciated.
