anyone had to replace their valve seals before or at around 100K? and what is the soonest you all have heard of rings going bad, on a daily driver that is NOT abused.

My 2001 integra gsr has 99k, and acura replaced all my valve seals, since two of my cylinders weren't firing at the right pressure. They Also took the engine apart and replaced all my piston rings, 6 of the valves and 6 valve springs. And best of all it was under warranty!. My guess would be thatt piston rings wear out faster than valve seals because the tolerancing between the ring and cyl wall is very tight. How do you know that your rings are blown, have you tested your compression? On a integra gsr it should be about 215-240psi per cylinder with the engine completely warm and wide open throttle.

i havnt done any tests yet. i just kno that my oil consumption seems faster than normal and there is no leaks or anything its rediculous. im switching back to regular oil i have synthetic in there now. also i had to smog not too long ago and they said it was runnin rich... seems like after i put on my header... i dunno i dont see how that would make it run any richer or anything but there is a lot more soot in my exhaust. ill get a compression test here when time permits 1 more week of school...
