series1 3800 1992 VS. 1993deadring 12-09-2004, 12:33 PM hi, in the title i meant 1992 Vs 1994.. sorry juste out of the curiousity, i noticed that a 3.8 SC from a 1992 has 205 HP ( thats what i have) and the 1994 version has 225 HP.. whats the diffrence? since it s not a series 2 i dont know what did they do wto gain 20 horses.. i know that the series 2 3800 SC engine has 240.. but from 1995 and up as i been told. anybody know what makes it do 20 HP more? is it boost? is it a diffrent SC ? Deadring parkavenuechrome 12-09-2004, 02:01 PM Fuel and Timing curves make a difference.. What they state however isn't necasarrily true. I wouldn't be to concerned about it. Its a heavy Car overall. tman 12-09-2004, 03:29 PM The body style ran from 91-92, so heres the rundown: 1991- No SC engine offered 1992- Ultra recieved SC 3.8 series I with eaton M62 SC 1993-Ultra recieved SC 3.8 series I with eaton M62 SC 1994-Ultra recieved SC 3.8 series I with eaton M90 SC 1995-Ultra recieved SC 3.8 series I with eaton M90 SC 1996-Ultra recieved SC 3.8 series II with eaton M90 SC deadring 12-10-2004, 07:28 AM so thats why its got more power... the M90 has more CFM capability therefore giving it more air/fuel... nice to know... now to compensate all i need is a smaller pulley :P hehehe i dont think they make some for the M62...but that would be nice.. if i can keep the reliability..but if it spins faster, it uses up faster :) deadring vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
