Hey all,
Got a 1994 Caravan with a 3.0 and also an annoying oil leak for a long time now. Last weekend I spent a good part of the afternoon changing the valve cover gaskets (the back one was pure joy) hoping that would solve the problem. Not the case.
The problem with locating the leak is that the motor is so pissed up with oil and dirt, so pinpointing the source of the leak is impossible. I plan on getting some good degreaser and washing down the motor.
Besides the valve covers and the oil pan, where would possible oil leaks occur on a 3 liter. It'll drip for a bit after running and then stop, so i dont think it's coming from the oil pan. Any help would be appreciated cuz this leak is driving me nucking futs!!!

If the motor has many miles on it, you may be getting oil thrown up the breather hoses. Check the pipes to the pcv valve and also check how good the seal at the oil filler cap is. Hope this helps ...

Hello, If your problem is from the side of your pulleys (all full of oil) 95% of the time its under your timing cover , 3.0 L Mitsubishi engines have a Timing belt which needs to be changed at certain miles .here in canada its about 100 k kilometers , Under the timing cover you have 2 oil seals 1 on each side of your head , these seals need to be changed with your waterpump when you service to change the timing belt .
Don't attempt to do it yourself unless you have nowledge on replacing timing belts if you fall off by 1 tooth it can become a very costly repair before you start this job try to get a work manual to cover the year of vehicule, it could also be your intake manifold. hope I was helpfull,,,,,,

If the oil leak is nearby the area of the oil filter (i.e. the front of engine), a common problem with this engine is that the oil pressure sending unit develope leaks with age. (It's a 4"" cylinder that screws in -- located next to the oil filter).

You should also check with the car washes in your area if they have a steam cleaner available. Works wonders.

Thanks for all who replied. Fortunately the oil leak isnt on the pully side because what 4 L. eggbeater described sounds like a nightmare to take care of. I'm thinking it's coming from the lower front of the motor, but I'll know more tomorrow after I get the motor cleaned. Thanks again guys.

Wouldn't a clogged pcv valve cause oil to be forced out the breather hoses and other topside openings? My 92 voyager has oil dripping from across the frame cross beam. Source(s) not located.

have a 93 voyager after driving ( for a while) i'll have a little puddle of oil more towards the drivers side of the motor pcv is clear, valve covers are dry any suggestions.
