I love the 350Z and love the Roadster even more. What are the main differences in terms of storage space, road noise and performance between the soft top and hard top.

Anyone with real world experience to share would be appreciated.

FYI: A few reviews with good photos and informaiton:

From my experience . . . i own a hard top . . . the road noise is evident while on the highway . . . my girlfriend always says she knows when I am in my car when i am on my cell.

I test drove a softtop and did not find the road noise to be that much worse. I was actually pretty impressed!

I own a roadster, and absolutely love the thing. Trunk space is limited, but still larger than my '91 RX7 convertible......Believe it or not, the only sticker in the trunk explains how to load a golf bag in.......nuts, huh?

If you're that concerned about trunk space, perhaps a 350 isn't for you. I bought a coupe and considered the trunk as a bonus . . . sure, you can't fit two golf bags in it, but how often do you pick up your buddy to go golfin'? Typically, we all meet at the range . . .

Nevertheless, I adore the convertible, but still manage to love my coupe. If you want storage, buy an SUV.

i have a coupe also i think for a performance car like the Z i think that the trunk space given for the coupe is amazing, one thing i dont like is not enough storage space for all my crap that i need near me, but the overall appearance and performance of the car easily makes up for that :).

I recently traded my hard top for a soft top. I made the conversion for no other reason than the lease was up and I didn't want to get the same car again. There are some decided differences. The convertible is noisier, hard top was really a quiet car. Suspension is softer but that is true for the new hard tops. The body seems fairly stiff but I can't throw this car into a turn as much as the previous. The trunk is small in the new car but I couldn't take the old one to Home Depot either

In the end, the decision is all about driving with the top down.
