ok, i want adjustable springs. any info/experience with ground control is appreciated. i have tokico illumina 5ways if that has anything to do with it. i currently have neuspeed race springs and i think i need to adjust when i get my rims. hopefully the extra 3/4" tucks into my wheel wells without rubbing, but im prolly gonna need to cut shit. i really dont want to remove too much of the splashguard.

how much max drop with GC's? i hear 2.5" with my current neuspeeds but i think its exagerated.

hey man I dont know how much the GC's drop but I have them on my car. how much of a drop you think they give? :D I would definately recommend them. Mine are almost to the bottom and I hardly bounce ridin on stock shocks. My ride is amazingly smooth for the height its at. I've been in other peoples cars that have other coils and their shit bounces alot more than mine! You have tokicos on yours man, I bet you're gonna be ridin real smooth!! IMO GC's the best sleeves you can buy!!

so all i need is the GC's and i throw them over my tokicos and im good? then twist or whatever to adjust to desired height?

yup...sounds tooo easy huh? :D

very. and your car looks a hell lot lower than mine. so i figure GC's drop like 3" if neuspeed actually drops 2.5"

how does your car ride now? I really think its gonna ride nice. IF i had shocks, i bet I would ride like stock. I really really like the GC's

my car ride VERY smooth. only problems are potholes and driveways of course. but its not extremely stiff where i get thrown out of my seat when i hit a dip or something.

do you rub at all? i want that tucked look. but im afraid i'll rub

iLLuCiv99

the only time I rub is when I am like at a couldersac (however u spell it lol) and I'm going around the circle kinda fast. know what I mean? other than that, no

considering i have the exact same car as you...I have GC, they are great. The only thing i hate about our civics is that you really gotta gut the wheel wells out and cut the lips off the fenders to stop rubbing with larger wheels. You can slam your car with GC. I have mine about 3/4 the way down, and its already low.

Just another comment, I have the GC adjustables, and I LOVE them as well. Mine are 4 threads up from the bottom, and my ride is on stock struts (for the moment), and it is SMOOTH.
I'm on 17's though, and the front tires rub a little when I'm making a u-turn or in a couldusack (sp? :hehe: ) too, so I have to raise the front a few more threads, but I just love how fast and easy it is to use and adjust them. I have nothing but good things to say about the Ground Controls!

:D

Just my 2 cents ;)

The GC's will lower your car up to 4 inches. I dont see how you could put em that low and not leave ur exhaust at the hardee's drivethrough. i have mine at about 3 inches but that's on stock rims.

Emmm, ILLuciv, you only have a good ride because your cars new... trust me, my car was JUST like that when I slammed it last week ~ but since mines a 93 and I suspect these shocks are the originals, sure enough like 3 miles later one of em already went. So just consider yourself lucky!

BUT, ive got my Tenzo coilovers dropped just about as much as they can go in the back (without cutting the damn metal "cup" off the shock) and in front im like ohhh... 6 turns from the bottom? So its pretty damn low... according to Tenzo its a maximum 4" drop ~ but im happy with these as well... ride is very good when you dont have blown shocks :)

i have skunkworks and they ride like crap. i guess its because my shocks are so old.

ok, i'm ordering a set as soon as i get home from school today. but my next question is this. i plan to mate them to my current tokico illumina 5ways. i'm going to install them as far down as possible, put my rims on and adjust accordingly to rubbing issues and weather or not my exhaust touches the ground.

so to adjust, i just jack up that side so the tire is off the ground, twist? or is there a wrench? how am i sure they are all the same height left & right ya know? does it click into place like every 1/4" or something? and will i have any installing problems?

how hard is adjustment? after i find the right height i'll get an alignment and test my camber. I WANT WHEEL TUCK! :)

To adjust just loosen the perch w/ an allen wrench and turn up or down. What I usually do to make sure everything is even is, go as far down as it goes and I count up how many turns I make. Make sure all are turned up the same amt of times then voila :D

you have to jack up the side right? how else can you get at the spring/perches? is there any markings to tell you how many times it goes around?

Yea, you gotta jack up the side of the car, for me its easier taking the wheel off but you dont have to. In the back though I always take the wheel off cause the perch is too low for me to reach. There is a GC Emblem/Marking on the perch itself, so you can count how many complete rotations up or down you make and put them at an equal height. I'll try to get a pic of a closeup of the coilovers, its somewhere in this big silicone harddrie LOL :D

Yea the lower you go the more negative camber you get, but as I read on other posts there are alot more factors that determine Camber angle :D wow i learned something...i think lol

Fuggi, let me warn ya ahead of time, just incase you didn;t think of it. If you lower your car ALL THE WAY DOWN in the beginning, and then its TOO LOW<whichI know its going ot be close with 17s<my friend had 17s on his 90 jetta and tucked full tire and part of rim, and you really had to watch out on turns being that low> make sure you have a jack that will get under your car once iits slammed. And for how low your going, I would have to think your going to have to shave/roll most of your fenderwell to daily drive it. And I would invest in a camber kit quickly....because with that much of a drop, those tires wont last a year ;). I knew somene who had there car lowered quite a bit, and didn't last 4 months. I think it was even 3 actually. Also didn't civicex95 have a problem like that last year or something on old ph. I remember someone did, because I remember hearing how his tire blew out but his car wasn't hurt.

At this height here, I can JUST<and I mean I have to go around the little piece jack piece, and then come in from the side> because my car is to low to go straight at it>barely fit my stock jack under the car. Hope this helps

well with my current setup, i can't jack my car up on any jack. i have to either put a 2" x 8" x 15" piece of wood plank under my tire to get it high enough to get the lifting arms under my sides
