Okay, having mentioned several times that I got the chance to drive with Larry Kinch in his McLaren F1GTR (07R) at Knockhill Circuit, Scotland in September 1998, I've often been asked for photographs.

Well, as the photo's I took were from my analogue days, and bereft of a scanner, and being asked ridiculous amounts by my local photo shop to scan them, I hadn't done much about it.

Then yesterday, a Eureka! moment happened! I have a reasonable digital camera and a tripod. Why not take photos of the photos ...

My apologies if the quality is not stunning, but what the hell ... you'll NEVER have seen these shots before!

There's a few more that I'll take and put into the album later, when it's daylight!

Enjoy! :)

I'll put the same thing here I put in your album guestbook:

FANTASTIC!!!

What an excellent collection of photos documenting one stage of GTR #07R's history. Thanks so much for sharing!!

Seriously - these images are almost like lost treasures. I recall when Stratoraptor and I had a long (friendly) debate over some photos of #01R wearing this livery with the 'GTR' script on the side, and I tossed in two shots of what ended up being this car still thinking it was #01R, just without that 'GTR' script. I think you popped in at about the same time and if it weren't for you we never would have learned the true story of this interim livery on #07R.

Off Topic (sort of): It just kills me to think about how many people out there must have photos like this stuffed away in an old photo album or tucked in a drawer somewhere.

Not to sidetrack your thread, but there simply MUST be more photos out there of amazing settings like these three below, yet these are the only shots I have. How can that be???

Anyway - thanks again for sharing those shots and thanks for taking more than 5 photos as seems to be so common with F1 sightings. I'll never understand that at all either. . :grinno:

I'd promised to share them for ages ... just glad I worked a cheap way to do it (my Scottish heritage/upbringing shines through! )!

Hello,

great sharing !

Peloton25 > I don't remember if we discuss on that before but I have several questions on the "Big Eight shoot" :)
1) When, where ?
2) VIN ?
3) #075 is on the pic ?

Ciao

Phil, the "big 8" was scanned out of driving ambition (by me :D ). It was taken at the launch of the 1995 GTR. Thus, 075 cannot be in the pic.

Going from right to left, i would guess the serials are as follows:

018/016/025, 017, 015/020/002, 018/016/025, 004/021/028, 018/016/025, 003/007/002/015/043, 014

Good luck narrowing them down any further. I really need to have more pics or a larger version than that to be more precise
