injen intake on saturn sl 2kaz555 12-07-2004, 11:08 AM i am about to buy an injen intake system designed for 2000-2002 saturn s series, but my car is a 97 saturn sl 2, 5 speed. i was wondering if it is going to fit on my saturn, do i have to modify anything to get it in place and still get the power? The reason im getting it is because its really cheap And pretty much brand new? sickcallawayc12 12-07-2004, 04:59 PM It most likely won't fit. If you're getting it from a friend or something, look at the pipe angles and sort of "guesstimate" if it will work but if I was in your shoes I wouldn't do it. I don't know how "cheap" you're getting this for but I don't believe getting anything not designed specifically for the car. It will have to go across where the stock intake pipe is to in front of the battery tray down to the inner fender liner area. Also, the IAT sensor/sensor hole may be positioned differently on the 00-present saturns, I don't know. get the AEM cold air intake for your car instead, I'm sure you'll be just as happy and will be worth any extra money you spend. Any cold air intake for a saturn requires that you cut some of the plastic inner fender on the left side so you can continue to route the pipe and filter. When I first learned this getting my cold air intake i didn't want to do this and haven't to this day; the short ram is just as nice. The filter will be mounted way down there so I would recommend not just getting an AEM cold air system but that cool AEM bypass valve too so if the filter happens to suck in too much water or dirt the bypass valve will shut out the air coming in from the filter and route air from the crevass on the valve, thus, saving your engine's life. It's still probably one of the most debated things on a car I've seen on the internet on whether the bypass valve will work on other brand intakes or not. I wouldn't think it would (if AEM is smart). sierrap615 12-07-2004, 11:58 PM let me just add to sick's post by saying the 00-02 will not fit your 97 unless you take a hack saw to it(don't do that). also there are a few nice/cheap short ram intakes on Ebay (thats where i got mine) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
