hey. i'm not sure if this doesn't belong in here, if so then let me know, but i went to the track on friday and saw some pretty cool stuff.

first, a jetta, 96-98ish (that body style). it was black and looked 100% stock, down to the wheel. the exhaust wasn't too obnoxious or fart-canny (is that a word?) and sounded actually decent for a domestic fan like myself. anyway, what surprised me was that it ran a 13.53 :eek7: i was extremely surprised. that is pretty quick for a jetta in my opinion. i'm not sure if it was a 1.8T or a VR6, perhaps a VR6 since i didn't hear a turbo spooling but i could be wrong.

second, a fox body 5.0 stang. he had fat ol' slicks and he sprayed off his nitrous while waiting for the other person to stage. i've never seen a car at the track launch like that stang did. the torque just cranked it sideways and lifted the front end way up :naughty: also his turbo was soo loud, *drool* it was quite incredible. he was running low tens all night :thumbsup:

it's likely that neither of these cars will surprise the majority of you, but i thought it was pretty cool. again, if this belongs in a different forum, let me know, but it is related to racing :rolleyes: anyways later.

nope, but i'm going again this friday to race my car, and i'll see if i can get vids of that. this past friday was free because my dad knows the owner of the track, so my friends and i got free tickets, but we couldn't race our own cars, so we're going again this coming friday. my dad is taking his 96 viper gts modded like crazy... i'm giggling with excitement to see what a 500+rwhp viper will do when it's on the bottle :biggrin: this probably sounds like b.s. but i can get pics to prove it. anyways, i'll be racing my 98 camaro z28, and i've got some friends bringing a 74 nova w/350 bored 60 over, an lt1-equipped caprice heavily modded, and a 97 firebird, cammed w/headers and true duals. it will be a fun night at the track this weekend :-) anyways just thought i'd share my excitement. peace.
