I have a 2002 Audi A4 3liter Quatro with sport suspension package. Factory wheels are 17"x 7.5" with 235/45/17 tires.
Problem is extreme tire wear feathering and cupping.
1st set Michelin Primacy tires not round in 8000miles. Extreme throbing howling noise. 2nd set Michelin Pilot sport tires 10,000miles thobbing howl from 5000 miles on. 3rd set Falcon 512's feathering snd cupping noticeable after 5000 miles.
In the winter I drive Dunlop M3 sport snows 215/55/16 tires and don't have this problem.
Has anyone else experienced these issues.

do you have the proper air pressure in the tires? typically the cause....

you've gotten an alignment?

Running 35PSI in tires. Slighly higher than spec as it is beneficial for cupping. Audi has had the car in shop for alignment over 8 times with no resolution????

i have an 03 a-4 w/ sport suspension and am also an audi tech, bad news is the tires are performance tires and are a soft compound...i got 10,000 on my first set ,if the alignment is within specs you can try switching to an all season tire or a less performance oriented tire and get less handling performance..rotate tires at 5,000 instead of the recommended 10,000
