Miataracer 12-08-2004, 11:47 PM back when i had subs i did just fine when i grounded to the bottom side of the rear deck (the metal of course) GScivic7 12-09-2004, 01:59 AM that doesnt work for me.....i get engine noise to the max from there...also i get it when i earth to my wheel well....does anyone know how to get rid of engine noise from an amp? are you running your RCA and power cables on separate sides? I've grounded close to 10 different systems in about 6 different cars to the rear seat belt bolt and have had no trouble. Shitty RCA cables will pick up engine noise too no matter if you don't run them down the same side as the power cable. Shitty RCA cables will pick up engine noise too no matter if you don't run them down the same side as the power cable. im running them down diff sides.....they must be shitty rca's then....they are sheilded tho.... also i am running 2 amps...a 800w sony xplod one and a 222w xplod.....is it cos of running 2 through the same rca's/pwer cable/remote?> GScivic7 12-09-2004, 06:17 AM no, running two amps wouldn't cause that problem from what I know. How do you have your amps mounted? If they are mounted to bare metal they will pick up engine noise too. Say that you have them bolted to the back seat, it's smart to put a piece of wood between them even though there is carpet to separate the two. Heist 12-13-2004, 07:24 PM i tried grounding it to under the tray....same thing happens.....although when i do that, the back left indicator stops working and only the side and front work...and i can hear through the speakers every time the indicator blinks it goes whhheeeee tick wheee tick wheee tick ect.....what do you'se think aye? icebizzle 12-13-2004, 07:41 PM You should upgrade your RCA cables regardless, try monster cable, as for the ground, make sure you scrape off paint & ground to the bare metal of car chasis. Check head unit ground also, if it's not properly grounded can also introduce engine noise. RCA's should not cross ANY power wires even remote. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
