This is a tuf call, but a good one....

we all know the F1 is the fastest production car in the world at the moment, with a Max speed attanded 241mph vs the prototype R390 GT1 reaching a staggering 243 mph on a runway, but the 97' roadcars only got the 350hp engines, as aposed to F1's 600+hp, but when you think about it, how much is the max BMW and McLaren pushed the V12, it's a really cool motor, but Nismo can get a whopping 1700+hp out of the little V8, man I'll choose the R390 GT1, anyday, but then again I don't have the money and if I did it would be a different story, maybe, nah the R390 is a rearer car, and it has more in the long run.

But then again I am a nissan fan, always will be,

Hee hee hee, V8 power 86 200sx and twin turboed Nos fed 300zx.
and the name is wrong, the engine doesn't like turbo's, so we supercharged it instead, 900hp my goal.

I too would go with the 390.

But, damn man, you put a v8 in an 86 sx? That must have been a bit of work.

wow what is this? a S12 crew? well i must say that i always knew about the R390. but i never knew it was that fast. too bad its not much of a looker. even though the mc laren isn't exactly a beautiful car either.

yeap fitting the VH45DETT into a S12 200SX is slighty on the tight side, but on the other hand well 900hp in a 980kg body = low 9's in road legal trim............

OK, i'll repeat it for you then.......The McLaren F1 isnt exactly a beautiful car:flipa: :D :finger: ;)

but seriously, id take the R390 anyday. Its rarer, even though i heard there is only actually one road car in existence, i bet it would leave the McLaren standing on a circuit.

VH45DETTwithNOS

yep you could buy almost 4 F1's, but in the handling stakes I'll take the R390 GT1 anyday......

Well, handling, both cars raced at LeMans, and only 1 won, let alone DOMINATED! The R390 has a long tail, because it is better for racing (higher top speed, better stability). It was a race car. The F1 was a road car, hence, it doesn't look like the tail is as long.
And you could get an F1 LM, there are 4 in private hands, and they have teh world record for 0-100-0mph. I'll take the F1 anyday, thank you.
Although, the R390 would make a good addition to any garage (and any car that has 350hp and can run 0-60 in the 3's is good in my book)

Whatever happened to the Mclaren F1 GTR, I heard it didn't do as well as the LM did.........that had the longer tail on it almost as long as the R390? Does anyone know how it did?

mmmm the CLK GTR vs F1 GTR Vs 911 GT1 vs R390 GT1.....

the GTR never got so much recognition. possibly becos it was even uglier than the original car. and i think there were even fewr GTR's then LM's.

as for youre comparison. CLK-GTR anyday, that thing kicked ass on mclarens and porsches when it raced in the GT series, and it was doing well in Lemans until it broke down.

They made 5 LM's and only 1 GTR. And of course the Merc would be better, it was designed as a race car (the McLaren was always meant to be a road car. The racing version came around by coincidence). Also, the Mercedes is almost 10 years newer!

nope, the car that flipped was the CLR, a completely different design. there have been 5 flips in total. 3 CLR's, 1 911 GT1, and 1 coupe R8

VH45DETTwithNOS, for some reason:rolleyes: I don't believe you actually got ahold of a VH45DETT... If those were in the R390, I think they'd be a little rare...

Please show pictures if what you say is true.

Nope, completely different engine in the Q45, it being 4.5L N/A...
Plus the engine code for the Q45 is something like VQ45DE... It's not VH45DE... Completely different engines.

THe Q45 is not VQ series, I'm almost completely sure. I don't know what it is.

Sorry, my bad. It's VK45DE, not VQ45DE. I needed some caffiene to say that correctly;)

The r390 is a race car modified for the street, It never won Le Mans.

The McLaren F1 was a streetcar modified for racing, It won Le Mans in its first try.

I am more impressed with the F1's performance.

the R390 uses a 3.5L v8.......

its a totally different engine not found in any way shape or form in normal Nissans.
