Is a Mitsubishi TE04H a good turbo to put on a 97 Civic EX? What is the boost level and max boost?? $165 on Ebay for one!

going custom heh............you should also start readings outside the forums, because you have a long way to go. thats if you want to do it right. Are you already in your parts collection stage? I personally first like to figure what i already want and need to support the build instead of just buying anything along the way. I hate to go back again on a mistake.

I especially like this forum for custom builds concerning their faqs. Good Luck. Remember, SOHCs are easy and affordable to pick up =)

Wrong again, the Stealth/VR4 used the TD04. The TE04H is a Mitsubishi turbo made for Chrysler for use in their Turbo I engines from 1989-1993. I would not recommend spending money on this turbo. It spools fast but looses steam even faster and at higher boost levels is a big restriction. It is a poorly designed turbo and would take some retrofitting to use on your car.

Don't bother with this tiny turbo.

I also found a site that sells Garrett T3/T04 turbos for $175, would that be better. This turbo is on a D16 for now with the hope of someday becoming a B16.

I can't begin to tell you how much better a T03/T04 would be compares to the TE04H. I honestly can't call the TE04H a performance turbo. It was alright for it's use on the Turbo I, however, most of the people using the Turbo I that want power do the Turbo II conversion to the T03.

Don't waste your money on the TE04H.

ok so here's some better questions:
1. What's the boost of a T3/T04
2. Would the T3/T04 work on a D16 and a B16
3. What does a good one cost
4. Would it blow the engine in my car if i didn't do any mods on the bottom end of the D16 (B16 will be fully built)
5. Will the turbo help much.....i don't plan on buying any new parts (fuel system most importantly) for the D16 that aren't transferable to the B16
6. What are we talkin for power on a D16? A B16?

That's a lot i know, but you guys are smart.
Thanks
