Error Code P1423

Check engine light came on with Emission Workshop displayed. Error code was P1296. I replaced the coolant temperature sensor. Light came back on and now the error code is P1423. What does this signify? Emission workshop is also on. Car is 2000 V6 Passat. Car runs fine.

That's a code for low flow on the secondary air injection system. A starting point would be to check the vacuum & pressure hoses at the pump to see if any are cracked or loose. If they're okay then you need to run voltage to the pump to be sure it works. The pump is on the left (car's left)rear of the engine, left of the cylinder head.

i hv similar code from vr6 that my ABS has power failure. now i unplug the socket at back so light is off ;
then today my air bag light also comes on after one flash after start
but any idea where i should start looking ?

You would have to have the air bag system's codes read. Most often the ABS power failure is not that a fuse is blown & usually the system has power, just the module is dead. I've heard about fixing bad solder connections inside, but never tried it myself.
