I have a problem with my accord. Check engine light is on and the RPM does not go further than 3000 to 3500. Car wont take gas and starts "puffing." After I unplug the battery cable and put it back on, the car runs good and the engine light goes off. Until I turn off the car. When I start it again, the light comes back on and it starts "puffing" again. Anyone knows what is going on with this car? Thanks in advance for your help/input.

Same advice we give everybody --- PULL THE CODE FROM THE ECU! Autozone will do it for free. THEN we'll (and probably you'll) know what needs fixing. That's what the code is for.

Tried that, autozone cannot do it on a 1990 auto. . . .
