in the spring im gonna lower the car with a camber kit then take it for alignment..so my question is, if i set the camber and get it the alignment with the stock rims on..when i put the bigger 17's on...will it throw off the camber or/and the alignment?

uhh yea. very much so, but if you have an adjustable camer kit who cares, get it realigned when u get the 17's. -unlesss you have 5 way adjustable agx gas shocks (ive never had them myself so im not 100% sure)- then it will toootally throw off youre camber but not youre allignment.

Yup, as CivicSiRacer and Maitaracer said, putting on a larger or smaller will not throw off your alginment. When you lower or raise a car it messes up the camber and alginment, but changing the wheels will not.

camber is part of an alignment
1. Toe
2. Camber
3. Caster

Toe is your biggest tire eater because it wears down the whole tire unlike too much negative camber that only wears the inside edges of the tire. Toe and camber are the only to angles that change during lowering. Toe is easily adjusted by moving the outer tire rod ends, camber is not adjustable what so ever on a civic. The main reason why camber kits are needed.

Actually changing the wheel size will change the alignment slightly but nothing like lowering does. It all depends on the difference from the bottom edge of tire to the center of wheel. If there is a difference of 1" between you wheels now & the 17's then yes your alignment will be off, but not by much.
