I am going to e putting in a center console in my truck, however I am having trouble finding one that will match my interior color(dark grey from factor, findind tan or light grey). Is there a good way to change the color to match?? I am looking for something pretty durable as this truck will be used for work so it will be getting beat up from time to time.

First, the truck is a GMC Sierra, sorry I did not mention that. Second the OEM from the stealer is over $1000. I can get one off e-bay for like $350, I just have to get the color changed, which I have been told is possible, I was just wondering if anybody has done this and what the outcome of the color change was, things like color match, durability, etc.

Talk to a detailer from GM or talk to a GM parts advisor they can locate the trim color code and may also be able to suggest a good match vinyl dye to use for your color change. Your truck has the trim color codes in the door threshold drivers side and also in the glove box.

I learned about this from "Markgase2000" when I visited his detailing shop. We have recently been putting our heads together for some simular work on my 93 Ford Tempo and trim color codes was one of the questions I had for him and he showed me how to retrieve the codes through service and parts advisors. GM color codes are easy to retrieve.
