Second the OEM from the stealer is over $1000. I can get one off e-bay for like $350, I just have to get the color changed, which I have been told is possible, I was just wondering if anybody has done this and what the outcome of the color change was, things like color match, durability, etc. mospeed1 12-06-2004, 08:36 AM i painted the console in my old car, with regular spray paint it scrath pretty easy, that was about 5 years ago now they have alot of paints for plastic,i would buy a cheap cosole from walmart and test the painting on that DTails 12-06-2004, 06:26 PM i painted the console in my old car, with regular spray paint it scrath pretty easy, that was about 5 years ago now they have alot of paints for plastic,i would buy a cheap cosole from walmart and test the painting on that Talk to a detailer from GM or talk to a GM parts advisor they can locate the trim color code and may also be able to suggest a good match vinyl dye to use for your color change. Your truck has the trim color codes in the door threshold drivers side and also in the glove box. I learned about this from "Markgase2000" when I visited his detailing shop. We have recently been putting our heads together for some simular work on my 93 Ford Tempo and trim color codes was one of the questions I had for him and he showed me how to retrieve the codes through service and parts advisors. GM color codes are easy to retrieve. Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com! Registration is absolutely free. |
