Help 96 Caravan dies on rod, no startrv-peddler 11-29-2004, 06:27 PM Need help, am out of town. 96 Caravan 3.0 while doing 70 mph on highway, just quits. Will not start. Had Caravan towed to friends house. Where to start? What to check? Any and all suggestions and or help, will be appreciated. Pull the plugs out making the engine easy to turn over by hand, look down #1 to see when the engine is at TDC (top dead center) then loosen and pull out the distributor. The tags on the bottom may have sheared. You will need to remove it to inspect it anyway. rv-peddler 12-01-2004, 06:29 AM M'mmmmmmm, ok, I'll try that. Hadn't thought of that.
