How to get to the battery - 93' Regalmicromiz 11-28-2004, 03:45 PM My husband left the lights on in my '93 Buick Regal and now the battery is dead. We want to jump start it but couldn't find the battery! Now we think we see it, on the driver's side, but it's under the washer fluid tank and a cross brace. How do we get to the battery to hook up jumper cables? raybuick 11-28-2004, 07:17 PM You probably got her boosted by now, but you could hook up the positive cable to the red cap post on the nearby fuse box and the negative to a ground on some metal contact.Always follow proper hook-up procedures from the owners manual so that maybe a module or something doesn't burn out-good luck micromiz 11-28-2004, 09:11 PM Actually, we were stumped so haven't done anything yet. My hubby wanted to take the car apart to get to the battery, but I said wait 'til we get some advice. (he's not very handy -- once it took him 12 nails to put up a what-not shelf .) So you're saying we don't need to actually hook the jumper cables to the battery itself? (I don't have an owners manual, so I wasn't able to look any of this up). I did read at batteries.com that you should hook up the postive post on the dead car to the positive post on the live car, then the negative clamp on a metal part of the car, then connect to the negative post on the live car. My hubby just looked at the Buick again and found the auxiliary post. Thanks for the tip!! sierrap615 11-28-2004, 11:04 PM you don't need to connect straght to the battery, the remote positive termial(as some call it) is again on the fuse box and covered by a red plastic cap to prevent shorting. this "terminal" is really more just like a bolt, it will have a heavy wire, most likey red, leading directly to the positive terminal on the battery. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
