Experience neededphil1347 11-27-2004, 01:08 PM Hello, I have been activly searching for a 69 road runner convertable with a hemi and finially found out that they only made 4 of them. Does anyone know if these will be for sale? Also, is it better to buy a car like this at an auction such as Barrett-Jackson? I have had multiple muscle cars in my life but have never had the pleasure of owning a mopar product. It is a goal to purchase at least a 69 road runner convertalble or a GTX convertable but need to get your opinions on the best way to proceed. I always believe in experience and i am certain that one of you out there can help me. Thanks in advance. Phil Massachusetts Phil, Even if all 4 still exist, you're chances of buying one of them are slim to none. You're better off buying a 383 car in decent shape and building a Hemi clone. If you can do the body work yourself or can get it done cheaply, you're better off buying a project car. Of course if you have the budget, you're better off buying a completed car. Take a look at these classified pages: http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=B&Number=1245860&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=365&fpart=1 Scroll down, Tony D is selling a '69 Road Runner, $12,500 http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=1183807&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=365&fpart=4#Post1203151 There are multiple pages of B-bodies. http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=B Good luck. lethal429 11-29-2004, 12:23 AM I have heard of one being here in Ontario Canada (Hemi GTX conv.), personally I have never seen it so im not really sure what year it is...may be a 69 or 70...I have a friend who knows the owner and it is my understanding that it is the only one left...I am fairly sure that the guy does not want to sell it at this time...if it was to be sold, it would go for big $$$$$ theenlightement 12-02-2004, 08:28 PM if u cant find one make a rr hemi convitible whatever clone thats the way i go MannyE 12-27-2004, 10:06 PM A 69 Hemi RR convertible was up for auction the other day, and the owner TURNED DOWN 135K. So, unless you have that kind of money (I heard through the grapevine eh wants 250K for it) Start looking for clones. A good one runs 60 to 80K (50K for a clean 383, then the cost of conversion) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
