Fuel Sending Unitmegavolt121 11-24-2004, 07:49 PM I have a 98 Rodeo 3.2 with what I think is a bad fuel sending unit, so I went ahead and replaced it. After replacing, the fuel light was flashing ( probably 1 gal of gas in the car). So i went down to the gas station and put in approx 10 gal. The gauge stll reads empty, and the light keeps flashing. Ive even disconnected the negative battery terminal too. What's wrong?! 2eyefishclaw 11-24-2004, 09:02 PM on the 98 models the pcm needs to be reprogrammed after replacing the sending unit megavolt121 11-24-2004, 11:19 PM PCM? How would I reprogram this? megavolt121 11-29-2004, 11:40 PM Anyone? the blinking light was starting to annoy me during my 6 hour drive home. rodeo02 11-30-2004, 02:02 PM I'm pretty sure only a dealer would have the software & equipment needed to upload a new program to your PCM/ECM. You need a pretty high dollar scan tool for that. I cant see that it would cost you more than hours labor or so, but you may wanna call around. Sux, but whataya gonna do.
