1989 alternator changeredsplayin 11-24-2004, 04:38 PM i can't seem to find an easy way to change my alternator on my shop car..its a 1989 z-24 but there is absolutely no room to get at the tensioner. Anyway, to get at the tensioner on this car you will need a 15mm offset wrench or you can get a loaner tool at Autozone. Then this job is very simple. Good Luck.
