like the title sez, i am spending $10,000 on my 97-98 civic hatchback. im looking more towards an engine for now. i need suggestions on what engines to swap and what other stuff i can get for 10k. Any sites that have cheap engines will help a lot too. by the way 10k is in canadian currency FYI. thanks for any help.

no it will be way harder

not only will it be harder, but youll need to buy the s2k rear end and driveshaft. plus custom motor mounts and alot of time and money.

Skip the type R motor it is over priced. Buy a b18c1 motor build the engine up and go with a turbo set-up with a good fuel management like hondata.

I agree building up a type R motor is just a waste of money a b18c1 will be cheaper to build for a turbo and still give about the same amount of power or close to it. A type R swap is about half of that 10 grand you have, and then seting it up for turbo will cost even more. the b18c1 engine can be found for a few thousand less then b18c5 so with the b18c1 you should have some money left for a bodykit not sure about system though.

i don't really plan to turbo the car cuz i know how expensive that would be. i don't plan to go with mad power on my civic. i just want an N/A daily car with power and something to at least brag about rather than just driving a civic with stock engine. (nothing against ppl with stock engines, pls dont take this offensively) Im not really going for a showstopper car..... for now, since i don't have enough funds. But the first chance i get a decent amount to build up my car, expect me to be asking u guys again on what to build next. your suggestions are really important to me and will guide me through my very own showcar.

10 grand is alot of money!!! If you spend the majority of it on the engine with a built bottom end b18c1. Add a turbo set-up, the right e.m.s. and tuning. That will be one sick street car. And in my opinion screw the body kit dump it all in to the motor!!
